HPT has been selected as the VSAT DAMA (Demand Assigned Multiple Access) hub for the new Public Switched Videophone Network (PSVN) presently being implemented in select regions across Asia. The PSVN network is expected to start services on the newly launched Telstar 18 satellite in the last quarter of 2004. HPT will also be the Satellite/ISDN gateway for this new service.
The PSVN DAMA satellite network will operate a platform for 128kbps (15fps) and 384kbps (30fps) videophone calls by satellite between VSAT City-Gateways in Asian metropolitan areas and the US ISDN networking backbone, and will also provide switched videophone traffic originating and terminating in the Asia-Pacific region.
