Data Center

Property Overview

Located two miles inland and 130 feet above sea level, the facility is outside of flood and tsunami zones. Our data center has a poured concrete structure, and is one of the only multi-tenant, carrier-neutral data center facilities with satellite and subsea fiber backup capabilities in the world.

Leveraging its strategic geographic location in Kapolei, Hawaii, access to the submarine cable network and Hawaii Pacific Teleport, an international satellite communications provider, AlohaNAP is creating a high bandwidth capacity ‘meet-me’ point – establishing it as a critical, strategic point  of presence for trans-Pacific traffic.

AlohaNAP offers enterprise-ready Tier 3 datacenter and colocation services on the island of Oahu with best in class critical infrastructure and our wide array of fiber and satellite connectivity options. The highly secure poured concrete datacenter, ideally located in Kapolei more than 2 miles inland and over 130 feet above sea level, offers customers peace of mind that their datacenter is protected from man made hazards as well as natural disasters.

The multi-building campus comprises of three independend buildings, designed to provide over 200 high density customer cabinets in a secure, redundant environment. Two greenfield custom-designed datacenter buildings are a part of a future expansion plans, with potential for up to 50,000 gross square feet each.

Broadcast & Media

HPT provides cost affordable full-time or ad-hoc analog and digital video turnaround services between US domestic satellites and commercial Asian satellites at competitive rates.

HPT operates video origination equipment to enable playout and uplink of video originated in Hawaii to Asia or the US Mainland.

HPT provides satellite uplinks and downlinks to US Domestic and Asian satellites for customers providing their own space segments. HPT manages close relationships with most US and Asia satellite operators and can assist video content customers to engage appropriate space segment providers. HPT provides full time services via US-Asia satellite relay originating from Hawaii via tape playout at HPT or via fiber feeds from local sources.

HPT supplies occasional use satellite video-relay between the US and Asia plus Hawaii video origination to either the US or Asia (tape playout at the teleport or fiber feeds from local sources). HPT’s minimum contractible service is one hour. The space segment may be provided by either the customer or HPT.

Internet

Satellite IP circuits function as an overlay to the terrestrial Internet, bypassing the choking congestion and multiple router hops that prevent IP content providers from delivering higher quality video and audio stream and web surfing experiences.

HPT operates fail-safe switching of Internet traffic from HPT’s fiber backbone, resulting in a crucial reach extension of the global Internet backbone through Hawaii to remote Asian market regions and as far south and west as New Zealand and Pakistan.

HPT delivers cost-effective IP circuits to parts of Asia where fiber is either non-existent, unreliable, or has very long installation lead times. HPT satellite IP circuits provide Internet users across Asia with a wide array of platforms and configurations through which to connect to US and global Internet backbones.

HPT operates multiple multi-homed broadband OC-3 (155Mbps) fiber circuits interconnecting with numerous Tier 1 backbone networks.

HPT seeks to provide the widest choice of platforms for delivering cost-effective Internet circuits to Asia.

Internet Exchange

HPT is proud to be an on-island Internet Exchange Point.  An Internet Exchange Point (IXP) is a network facility that enables the interconnection of more than two independent Autonomous Systems, primarily for the purpose of facilitating the exchange of Internet traffic.  An IXP provides interconnection only for Autonomous Systems.

We are thrilled to offer a peering solution to our international customer base.

Oil & Gas

HPT’s capability to access a wide choice of satellites and service platforms covering the region is a key asset to the Oil & Gas community.
